“Supertown, Part Three”

In "Supertown, Part Three," Flash struggles to rebuild Monument Point while tensions rise over the decision to hold Scythe in the city despite Dr. Fate’s objections. With Flash called away to handle a deadly threat against the mayor and Lightning, Obsidian arrives to take matters into his own hands—only for Lightning to intervene, collapsing just as the mayor does, leaving the city in sudden, shocking peril. Written by Marc Guggenheim and illustrated by Mike Norton, with colors by Mike Atiyeh and letters by Rob Leigh, this pivotal issue sees the cover by Shane Davis and Sandra Hope capturing the moment’s intensity.

As Flash leads the rebuilding of Monument Point, Dennis Hogan hires Dr. Chaos. Though Dr. Fate objects, Flash insists on holding Scythe in Monument Point, refusing to transport him to Belle Reve. After Flash is called away from that debate, however, to deal with a death threat against the mayor and Lightning, Obsidian arrives to mete out his own justice against Scythe. As Lightning keeps Obsidian from getting to Scythe, she collapses, as does the mayor, both apparently dead.
