Justice Society of America #44
"Supertown, Part One" marks a pivotal moment in the Justice Society of America's ongoing saga, as writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Scott Kolins deliver a high-stakes showdown in Monument Point. When a powerful metahuman Islamic terrorist escapes captivity in Afghanistan and unleashes chaos on the city, the JSA rushes to defend it—only to face a dire setback when Green Lantern is severely wounded early in the fight. With the team pushed to their limits, it's Lightning’s sudden surge of energy that turns the tide, setting up a dramatic climax that leaves the villain vulnerable to Dr. Fate’s binding magic. The cover by Shane Davis and Sandra Hope captures the intensity of the moment, perfectly framing the chaos and resolve at the heart of this standout issue.
