Doc Savage and the Shadow are astonished by Benson's resurrection, so they investigate the situation and learn that his hair and skin have turned white and his face can be remolded into any form. The three men agree to fight their adversaries together, as they have deduced that the Voodoo Master, Shiwan Khan, and John Sunlight are working together against them. Shortly after, John Sunlight and his minions attack Doc's Himalayan headquarters.
