Justice, Inc. #1
This volume collects the first story arc of the 2015 Dynamite series, bringing together pulp heroes The Shadow, The Avenger, and Doc Savage for a crossover adventure. Written by Michael Uslan with art by Giovanni Timpano, the story pits the trio against a mysterious criminal organization threatening New York City.
"The Invisible Man!" kicks off Justice, Inc. #1 with a thrilling mystery as Doc Savage and the Shadow confront the shocking return of Benson—now transformed with white hair, reshaping skin, and an uncanny ability to alter his face. With the sinister trio of the Voodoo Master, Shiwan Khan, and John Sunlight revealed as a united threat, the three heroes unite to defend Doc's Himalayan stronghold from an imminent assault by John Sunlight and his forces. Written by Michael Uslan and brought to life by Giovanni Timpano’s dynamic art and Marco Lesko’s vivid colors, the issue features a striking cover by Alex Ross.
In "The Island of Dr. Mocquino!", John Sunlight's latest scheme takes a dangerous turn when he secures the UQM, forcing Doc Savage and his allies into a high-stakes chase across New York. With Sunlight stealing the Shadow’s autogyro and Doc in pursuit, the hero is thrown from the craft—plunging toward the city below.
In "War of the Worlds!" from Justice, Inc. #1, the Avenger, grappling with his altered abilities, slips into a secret board meeting to uncover the truth about his family’s fate—only to face devastating confirmation and a deeper conspiracy within his own company. As the mystery unfolds, Doc Savage’s sudden return proves pivotal, arriving just in time to shield Pat, Margo, and the Shadow from an onslaught of John Sunlight’s deadly ninjas.
In "The Night of the Avenger!," The Shadow and Doc Savage pursue Benson to New Jersey, where he seeks justice for his family’s murder—only for The Shadow to act before the Avenger can intervene. As the chaos unfolds, John Sunlight’s scheme to destroy time through the UXM threatens to unravel everything, but it’s cut short when both Sunlight and the Voodoo Master fall. The story closes with the three heroes acknowledging their irreconcilable approaches to justice, leaving their future collaboration uncertain.
