Jungle Girl Season 2 #5

The final issue of Jungle Girl Season 2 closes out Dynamite's 2009 series with a striking Frank Cho cover that puts the fierce, blonde heroine front and center — crouched low in shallow water, bloodied knife in one hand and spear raised in the other, pinning down a fallen green creature beneath her. It's a raw, kinetic image that captures everything the series does well: a capable, battle-hardened protagonist who clearly just won a very difficult fight. Writers Frank Cho and Doug Murray, along with artist Adriano Batista, round out a season that kept the prehistoric adventure feeling urgent right to the end.
