Jumbo Comics #87

Jumbo Comics #87 (May 1946) puts Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, front and center in a pulse-quickening cover by Joe Doolin — she leaps through the air, knife in hand and golden hair blazing, as a massive black panther lunges downward toward a bearded explorer and a frightened woman below, with a crowd of figures visible in the jungle background. The story title "Sargasso of Lost Safaris" promises wild adventure, and Alex Blum's interior work backs it up alongside additional features including "The Hawk" and "Ghost Gallery." A fine slice of 1946 Fiction House jungle action that shows exactly why Sheena was one of the era's most compelling heroines.
