Sheena, Jungle Queen dominates this November 1942 cover by Dan Zolnerowich, her flame-blonde hair flying as she charges forward in her leopard-skin outfit, spear in hand, while a great black panther lunges nearby and a man scrambles desperately out of harm's way at her feet. The cover promises a wild blend of action, adventure, and mystery across multiple features — including Midnight the Wild Black Stallion, ZX-5 Spies in Action, The Hawk, and Drew Murdoch tackling zombie blood-lust in the Ghost Gallery. At just a dime, Jumbo Comics was delivering some of the most energetic pulp-adventure storytelling of the wartime Golden Age, and this issue's Sheena story — "Fanged Keeper of the Fire-Gem" — looks like no exception.
