The issue also includes other features such as Bobby, Inspector Dayton, Charlie McCarthy, and Jumbo Jim.
In "The Experiment of Kromo: Part 2," the deranged scientist Kromo hijacks Stuart Taylor’s body and abducts Taylor’s lover, Lora, plunging them into a desperate race against time. With the help of the enigmatic cosmic entity Mister Eternity, detective Hayward tracks Kromo through a web of scientific terror and hidden motives, where the line between mind and machine blurs.
A cartoon preview of Charlie McCarthy's upcoming Universal picture puts the wise-cracking dummy front and center when Edgar Bergen and the rest of the cast get tangled up in the film's comedic premise. This brief comic adaptation captures the quick-witted charm that made the character a vaudeville sensation, with the familiar dynamic between Bergen and his mischievous wooden sidekick in full effect.
Jumbo Jim seeks Professor Dillpickle's advice on what matters most in the world, only to discover the Professor's unexpected answer involves an adding machine. What unfolds is a lighthearted collection of jokes and pranks set around a restaurant, proving that humor—not money or wisdom—might be the real currency of life.
