Jumbo Comics #146 brings Sheena, Queen of the Jungle to one of her most visually arresting covers of 1951, depicting the fierce blonde heroine — leopard-skin outfit, spear raised — riding atop a thrashing elephant as a massive crocodile lunges at them with jaws agape, while a second croc and a tribal warrior with a spear crowd the churning lagoon below. The cover story, "Sinbad of the Lost Lagoon," promises plenty of swamp-soaked adventure with Sheena squarely in the thick of it. At just 10 cents for 52 pages, this Fiction House entry captures everything that made their jungle titles so energetic in the early fifties.
