Jughead with Archie Digest #195
In "Limited Availability," Jughead puts his unique spin on chivalry with a surprisingly literal approach—literally tackling Archie and Reggie when they cross him. When Betty and Veronica try to stage a dramatic chase to see Jughead in action again, they don’t count on him recognizing the boy they’ve enlisted. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Samm Schwartz, with inks by Vincent DeCarlo and letters by Vincent DeCarlo, this 2004 digest delivers classic Archie charm with a playful twist. The cover, by Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith, captures the lighthearted chaos perfectly.
When Reggie’s prank goes too far and coats Jughead in ice cream on a sweltering day, the two head to Veronica’s pool for a quick clean-up—complete with a bar of soap that turns the whole thing into a sudsy mess.
In "The Protector," Jughead puts his unorthodox sense of chivalry to the test when he physically defends Archie and Reggie from a perceived threat—only to find himself unexpectedly admired by Betty and Veronica. When the girls try to recreate the moment by orchestrating a staged chase, Jughead’s knowing smirk reveals he’s not fooled by their plan.
