“Three Queens and a Joker”

In "Three Queens and a Joker," Archie’s latest attempt to win a dance contest spirals into chaos when he accidentally lands dates with Betty, Veronica, and Midge all at once—much to Jughead’s dismay. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life by Samm Schwartz’s dynamic art and Barry Grossman’s vibrant colors, this 1971 classic captures the timeless absurdity of teenage romance with a twist. The cover by Dan DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick perfectly captures the comic’s playful, high-stakes energy.

There's a "Switch Dance" where the boys have to ask the girls, and Archie winds up making a date with Betty, Veronica and Midge all at once, to Jughead's horror: "I've seen you date two, by mistake -- but three!?" Jughead is even more horrified when Archie treats the triple-date as the ultimate challenge and tries to actually date all three girls without any of them finding out.
