“The Other Cheek!”

Jughead Jones has never been one to follow the dress code, and this 1968 issue captures his cheerful obliviousness perfectly — he shows up to Reggie's party in red striped pajamas and a jester's sleeping cap, arms spread wide, insisting he's simply wearing his "evening clothes" as instructed. Reggie, in a sharp purple tuxedo jacket, greets him at the door with barely contained exasperation while party guests look on in the background. It's a warm, funny snapshot of the Riverdale gang's comic dynamics, brought to life with the bright, expressive linework that made Archie Series titles such a delight in the Silver Age.
