Jughead #1
This collection kicks off the 2016 Jughead series, reprinting the first six issues. Written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Erica Henderson, it follows Jughead Jones as he navigates Riverdale High's new, oppressive administration while staying true to his love of food and naps. The story balances classic Archie humor with a modern, self-aware tone, establishing Jughead as an unlikely rebel against a system that threatens his carefree lifestyle.
In "The Time Directive," Jughead and the gang dive into a mystery at Sunnyside Mall while investigating Principal Stanger—only to stumble upon eerily familiar teens who seem straight out of a forgotten past. After a strange dream about the Super Teens defending Pop's, Jughead wakes to a shocking twist: the diner has been shut down, and the timeline itself feels off. Written by Chip Zdarsky and brought to life with bold, expressive art by Erica Henderson—both on interior and cover—this issue blends small-town charm with a touch of retro sci-fi mystery.
