JSA Liberty Files: The Whistling Skull #4

Tony Harris's cover for issue four of this six-part JSA Liberty Files miniseries is a genuinely unsettling piece of work — a skull-faced figure in a bowler hat looms large in the foreground, skeletal hands reaching toward the viewer, while smaller figures locked in a frantic struggle play out in the fiery background behind him. The warm, smoldering palette gives the whole composition a pulpy, wartime-noir atmosphere that feels right at home in the JSA universe. B. Clay Moore and Harris continue their "Big Dirt Nap" arc here, and if the cover is any indication, chapter four keeps the tension wound tight.
