Journey into Mystery #655

A bittersweet send-off for one of Marvel's most distinctive series, this 2013 final issue wraps up "Seeds of Destruction" with a cover by Jeff Dekal that crackles with cosmic energy. Sif dominates the foreground in her crimson and silver armor, cape billowing and expression urgent, while a helmeted Thor tumbles in the distance amid swirling debris, petals, and a planet's curved horizon. The creative team of Kathryn Immonen, Valerio Schiti, and colorist Jordie Bellaire brought real heart to this run, and issue #655 looks like a fittingly dramatic curtain call.
