“Death!”

In "Death!", a condemned man fleeing execution finds himself on a mysterious bus that accelerates time for its passengers, aging them rapidly. As he panics and threatens the driver with a gun to reverse the journey, the driver complies—only to deliver him back to the very scaffold from which he fled. Written by Carl Wessler and illustrated by Sam Kweskin, with a cover by Bill Everett, this 1953 tale blends suspense and surreal horror in a chilling, time-bending journey.
