Jonny Quest #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDynamite's 2024 revival of Jonny Quest hits its second issue with a cover by Chad Hardin that throws the whole crew into high-altitude chaos — Jonny himself rockets through the sky clutching his trusty bulldog Bandit, while armed allies jet alongside him through smoke and fire, and armored enemies on hovering platforms close in from all sides. A sinister skull-faced figure looms ominously within the explosion above, setting a wonderfully tense tone for a series clearly embracing both the adventure spirit of the original and something a good deal more intense. Writer Joe Casey and artist Sebastián Piriz are carrying this beloved property forward, and if this cover is any indication, issue two isn't letting up for a second.

Jonathan Quest of 2024, the 71-year-old survivalist version of Jonny, helps answer the 1964 team's questions about where they are and what had happened to them. The answers they get lead to only more questions. Dr. Zin and his subjects (responsible for the drone attack of the previous issue) unleashes an invasion of tiny, spider-like robot mechanisms that overwhelm what's left of the Quest Complex. Evacuating Palm Key in an upgraded version of Dr. Quest's original jet, the team heads to India and a meeting with an embittered older Hadji of 2024 who declines to help them, and then on to Japan.
