One story involves a young woman named Candy who must babysit her nervous aunt Agatha while dealing with various domestic mishaps, including her mother arriving home unexpectedly. Another story depicts Jonesy attempting to win over a girl named Carol by staging romantic gestures and signals from her window, with help from friends, but ultimately being outsmarted when Carol sees through his scheme and chooses his friend instead. The final visible story shows a group of young people engaging in a ski jumping competition, with one character (Pop) unexpectedly attempting the jump despite his age and physical limitations.
When Uncle Salty Jones and his talkative parrot Rufus drop in for a visit, Jonesy and Weepy are desperately cramming for Miss McNutt's French oral exam—but the bird has other ideas, squawking French conjugations at every opportunity. As the students struggle to study with Rufus constantly interrupting, the parrot somehow manages to turn their exam itself upside down, leaving everyone scrambling to explain what's really going on.
When Jonesy and Weepy volunteer for the hospital's book drive, they stop by Carol Lynn's house to collect her donation—but a rare edition her father left as a surprise gets swept up in the pile by mistake. Desperate to track down the valuable book before Carol Lynn's father discovers it's missing, Jonesy sets off on a wild chase that lands him exactly where he shouldn't be. A mix of teen hijinks and comedic mishaps makes this a fun spin on good intentions gone sideways.
Jonesy's dad insists on joining the kids for a skiing trip up Holiday Hill, boasting he's in better shape than ever—but his cocky attitude quickly lands him in hot water when a snowball fight spirals out of control and he careens down the slope. As the gang scrambles to find Mr. Jones, they discover he's gotten himself into quite the predicament, and it'll take some quick thinking to get him back in one piece.
Gabby needs quick cash for a date, so when he hears a leaky pipe in the cellar, he figures he's found his ticket to earning the money his father insists he make himself—but his attempt at do-it-yourself plumbing spirals into increasingly hilarious disaster. With his friend Algy's dubious assistance, Gabby's pipe repair triggers a chain reaction of flooding and chaos that threatens to wreck the entire house.
Jonesy falls hard for Rosemary Rooney and her singing voice, but when Carol Lynne and Mary Jane orchestrate a scheme to make him think Carol is the real talent, Jonesy leaps at the chance to manage her—setting off a chain of hilarious mishaps involving an impressario, a stage show, and a whole lot of pie. By the time the dust settles, Jonesy discovers whether his newfound star has what it takes to make it big, or if he's bitten off more than he can chew.
