“Fair Weather Friends”

Quality Comics' teen humor title delivers exactly what its tagline promises — "a laugh a minute" — with this December issue's cover gag landing right on the doorstep. Jonesy stands outside his house wearing an apron and wobbling under a precarious tower of dishes, cheerfully (if ruefully) explaining to a dark-haired gal in a red dress that yes, they have a dishwasher: him. It's the kind of breezy, self-deprecating suburban comedy that made 1954 funny-pages a genuinely good time.
