John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America #7

Aaron Campbell's cover for issue #7 of this Sandman Universe Black Label series is quietly unsettling — a pale, shirtless John Constantine lies sprawled across what appears to be a bed or floor, bathed in a wash of deep blue and vivid magenta, scattered scraps of paper or debris around him. The atmosphere Jordie Bellaire's colors lend the image is genuinely haunting, somewhere between exhaustion and something far worse. Simon Spurrier's Dead in America has been one of the more compelling Constantine stories in years, and this cover promises the series hasn't let up.
