John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America #6

Aaron Campbell's cover for this sixth installment of Dead in America is genuinely unsettling in the best way — John Constantine is submerged and struggling, his rumpled coat billowing around him in deep blue water while a grotesque, branching creature clutches at him from below, shadowy grasping hands looming in the murk above. It's a beautifully rendered image of a man caught between monstrous forces, with Jordie Bellaire's color work pushing the cold blues against vivid orange to striking effect. Simon Spurrier's Sandman Universe take on Constantine continues to look like essential Black Label reading.
