Jodocus de barbaar #2

Marq van Broekhoven's second album starring Jodocus de barbaar plunges the hapless caveman into what looks like a deeply unsettling underground encounter — torch raised in one hand and a mysterious white object clutched in the other, our wide-eyed hero is surrounded by a swarm of disembodied eyeballs mounted on sticks, all staring straight at him in the gloom. The comedic horror of the image perfectly captures the series' blend of prehistoric slapstick and gleefully absurd imagination. If "De blauwe wijven" promises anything, it's that Jodocus's world is wonderfully, hilariously strange.
