Part five of "The Obsidian Age: The Hunt for Aquaman" arrives with a cover that pulls no punches — Superman and Batman are overwhelmed by a swarm of skeletal warriors, their iconic costumes shredded and bloodied as bony hands drag them into the earth. Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen render the desperate struggle with visceral intensity, making it clear the JLA is in very serious trouble in the ancient past. Joe Kelly's script, brought to life by Yvel Guichet and Mark Propst, promises a story every bit as harrowing as this striking image suggests.
