The "Worlds Collide!" tagline says it all — this April 2005 issue of JLA features a cover by Ron Garney depicting the Justice League in full-on brawl mode, with Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Batman, and Green Lantern clashing against what appear to be their sinister counterparts in a chaotic collision of bodies and debris. Kurt Busiek's "Syndicate Rules" arc hits its fifth chapter here, and the cover's kinetic energy — shattered ground, bursts of green energy, fists flying — promises the tension has reached a genuine breaking point.
