Bucky O'Neill pursues bandits northward from Canyon Diablo across Utah, guided only by his instincts and scattered clues about their movements toward Cannonville. After a surprise attack that captures him, O'Neill is rescued by Marshal Ben Daniels and his men from Dodge City, and together they plan an assault on the enemy's fortified position at San Juan Hill. During the ensuing battle, O'Neill is shot but survives, ultimately leading a cavalry charge that forces the bandits to flee toward the Cherokee Village, where he finally apprehends the gang.
