# Jesse James #28 The main story "The Ambush at Arapahoe Pass" follows Big Jim Carter and his cattle herd as they encounter a wagon train led by Ebenezer Simms attempting to corral the stampeding cattle using a semi-circle wagon formation. After the herd charges through and tramples a cougar that had started the stampede, Big Jim hosts a barbecue where he befriends Simms and learns they are now neighbors. The second story features a man named Brett who works to escape his bonds while a woman named Chris stands guard, with Brett threatening to kill them both if he sees them again and instructing Chris to bring a bridle for their escape on horseback; the story concludes with a doctor threatening the lives of the captives.
