Marvel's 2017 solo series for Jean Grey launches with a striking cover by David Yardin that says everything you need to know: a young Jean, in her yellow-and-teal X-Men uniform, surges upward with fists raised while an overwhelming torrent of fiery Phoenix energy churns and swirls around her — awesome, beautiful, and clearly not entirely welcome. A smaller inset figure in the corner hints at the dual nature of her identity as she confronts something far larger than herself. Writer Dennis Hopeless, artist Victor Ibáñez, and colorist Jay David Ramos bring this series to life, centering one of Marvel's most compelling mutants in a story that looks to be as intense as the cosmic forces threatening to consume her.
