Tony Stark et Indries Moomji retournent à New York, laissant Rhodey toujours hospitalisé en Écosse sous la garde du Dr Ian Forsythe. Avec son armure gravement endommagée, Stark utilise un modèle plus ancien pour vaincre le Fondeur qui s’est présenté à Stark International. Vic Martinelli découvre qu’Obadiah Stane est derrière le complot contre Stark. Iron Man confronte Stane, qui avoue son rôle, mais ne peut rien faire faute de preuves.
