Iron Man and Black Widow make for a thrilling team on this July 1998 cover, with the armored Avenger streaking through the air above a fleet of armed military helicopters while Black Widow unleashes her Widow's Bite in a crackling burst of energy below. Explosions and gunfire fill the background, giving the whole scene a satisfying sense of kinetic chaos — penciled by Sean Chen and inked by Eric Cannon. With Kurt Busiek and Patrick Zircher on the creative team for "In Deep," this is a solid entry in what was already a promising run.
