Iron Man #13

The cover of this "Giant-Sized Spectacular" says it all — a massive, glowing-eyed armored figure looms behind Iron Man, who stands center-stage in his gleaming red-and-gold armor, seemingly caught in an overwhelming grip. Sean Chen's pencils and Lary Stucker's inks give the whole scene an urgent, kinetic energy, with that swirling blue background radiating tension around the title "Total Control." Kurt Busiek's run on The Invincible Iron Man was firing on all cylinders in 1999, and this oversized issue looks like a serious test of Tony Stark's limits.
