Iron Fist #2
From 1975 Marvel Comics comes this second chapter of Iron Fist's solo series, "Valley of the Damned!", with a cover by Gil Kane and John Romita that crackles with kinetic energy — Danny Rand charges forward, his fist blazing with chi-fire, squaring off against a massive, shadowy creature in a jungle setting while a blonde woman lies vulnerable at its feet. The cover copy promises "Martial Arts Mayhem in the Forest of Fear," and that urgent declaration — "Unless I can destroy this creature, that helpless girl is doomed!" — perfectly captures the high-stakes tension Kane and Romita have rendered so vividly. Inside, writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne continue their run on the Living Weapon, making this an early and energetic chapter in what would become one of Marvel's most celebrated creative collaborations.
