This anthology issue contains three stories: "Lone Wolf," featuring the Pawnee warrior whose war-cry terrorized five nations; "Last Stand," depicting Tecumseh's attempt to unite tribes against colonial forces and the subsequent battle at Tippecanoe led by his brother the Prophet; and "Warriors of the West," chronicling Sassacus, the last great sachem of the Pequots, who ruled with twenty-six warriors and faced colonists from the Dutch, English, and French, ultimately engaging in conflict that would end the Pequot Empire. The final story also follows Long Bow, a Blackfoot boy who kills a hunter with an arrow and must contend with a stampeding buffalo herd while evading the Pawnees.
