“Tempest Fugit, Part 3 of 5”

Part three of Peter David's "Tempest Fugit" arc finds the Hulk in desperate straits, as the cover — penciled and inked by Lee Weeks — shows a snarling, green-skinned Hulk scrambling across jagged rocky terrain while a massive, winged dragon looms behind him and unleashes a torrent of fire. The raw contrast between the beast's dark, imposing wingspan and the Hulk's defiant fury makes for a genuinely gripping image. With Tom Palmer on inks and the story still two parts from its conclusion, there's clearly plenty of chaos left to come.
