“A Mind of His Own”

Part three of "Hide in Plain Sight" arrives in this 2003 Marvel issue, with a cover by Leandro Fernández that pulls no punches — a green-hooded figure wrestles a snarling, grimacing Hulk amid a roaring wall of flames, the two locked in what looks like a desperate, life-or-death struggle. The painted fire bathing both figures gives the whole composition a visceral, almost hellish intensity that's hard to look away from. Bruce Jones and Leo Fernández keep the tension of this arc burning, making issue #57 a striking chapter in this ongoing run.
