“Incorruptible [Chapter 1]”

"Incorruptible [Chapter 1]" introduces a striking twist on the superhero paradigm, as the notorious Max Damage—last seen months prior—steps out of the shadows not to wreak havoc, but to save a police lieutenant and abandon his criminal empire. Written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Jean Diaz, with inks by Belardino Brabo, colors by Andrew Dalhouse, and letters by Ed Dukeshire, the issue unfolds with tense momentum as Damage’s sudden act of redemption sets off a chain of questions. A van driven by Jailbait, sidekick of notorious supervillain Max Damage, carrying three of his henchmen is stopped on a bridge by the police. During the ensuing firefight, Damage — who hasn't been seen in months — leaps into action, saving the life of Lt. Armadale and helping apprehend all but Jailbait. Damage brings Armadale back to his hideout, where he torches millions in stolen loot and vows to go straight.
