I Love You #73

Charlton's long-running romance anthology reaches issue #73 with a cover by Lucho Olivera that captures a charged moment at the doorway — a dark-haired young woman in a red dress reaches out to a blond man in a brown suit as a crescent moon glows in the night sky behind him. Her plea ("Darling, stop teasing me… I love you…") meets his cold dismissal ("It's all over! I won't have time for you after tonight!"), setting the emotional stakes for the featured story, "Too Much, Too Soon!" Olivera's clean linework and that bittersweet moonlit backdrop make this 1968 issue a lovely example of the tender, heartache-tinged romance comics Charlton did so well.
