Human Target #5
Javier Pulido's unsettling close-up cover — a sweating face with a baseball stitched directly into the eye socket — sets a viscerally tense tone for "Take Me Out To The Ballgame Part Two," the conclusion of this two-part arc. Peter Milligan's Vertigo run on Human Target earned a "must read" from Comics International, and this February 2004 issue shows exactly why the series earned that praise. If you enjoy psychological suspense wrapped in bold, minimalist design, this one is hard to look away from — appropriately enough.
