Peter Milligan and Javier Pulido's Vertigo series continues with this March 2005 installment, "Letters From The Front Line." John Watkiss's cover art arranges three looming faces in shadow around a stark beam of light, at the center of which a small, vulnerable figure crouches alone — an image that quietly radiates tension and dread. It's the kind of moody, minimalist composition that made Human Target one of Vertigo's most compelling mature-readers titles of its era.
