“Der Gladiator aus dem All”

In "Der Gladiator aus dem All," Stan Lee and Jack Kirby deliver a pivotal moment in the Hulk's saga as Rick helps Bruce Banner use gamma machinery to finally reclaim control—transforming the Hulk back into Bruce, only to have Bruce risk everything by reversing the process, merging his mind with the Hulk’s body. With the machine now enabling them to switch at will, the line between man and monster blurs in a way that reshapes their struggle forever. The story's bold art, led by Kirby’s dynamic pencils and Ayers’ sharp inks, is matched by Reinman’s striking cover, making this 1974 issue a standout in the series’ early run.

Rick uses some of Banner's machinery to transform the Hulk, who was stuck in his monster persona, back into Bruce. Bruce is incredibly weakened by the transformation and takes a chance in using the machinery on himself again which transforms him back into the Hulk's body but with Bruce Banner's mind. Now Bruce and the Hulk can switch at will using the gamma ray machine.
