Hulk #14
In "OVNI ou ennemi ? 1ère partie : naissance des U-Men," writer Mark Gruenwald and artists Ron Wilson and Alan Kupperberg (with inks by Kupperberg and colors by Nel Yomtov) launch a gripping tale rooted in cosmic mystery, as the Watcher recounts the origins of the Eternals—humans altered by alien hands into near-godlike beings. When their city Titanos falls, the surviving Eternals discover their shared immortality and the power to unite as a single consciousness, the Uni-Brain, setting the stage for a divided legacy. Benoît Bonte's striking cover captures the enigmatic tone of this pivotal chapter in the Eternals' history.
In "OVNI ou ennemi ? 1ère partie : naissance des U-Men," millionaire Simon Utrecht and his team—scientist Mike Steel, life support specialist Ann Darnell, and her brother, fuel propulsion engineer Jimmy Darnell—blast into space seeking power through cosmic rays, mirroring the Fantastic Four’s origin. After a crash landing, they emerge transformed, calling themselves Vector, Ironclad, X-Ray, and Vapor, and immediately turn on Bruce Banner, triggering his transformation into the Hulk and igniting a violent clash.
In "2ème partie : tonnerre sous l'East River," the Hulk, desperate to escape the chaos within and without, stumbles through New York City, triggering panic and a futile police response. When Thor senses the disturbance and arrives to confront his old ally, their clash of strength and wills ends in stalemate—neither can overcome the other. With Bruce Banner's shadow still pressing in, the Hulk seeks refuge on an Israeli freighter, hoping the sea will carry him beyond reach.
In "Le premier Uni-Cerveau," the Watcher recounts a forgotten chapter of Earth's past: the rise of the Eternals, a race of genetically enhanced humans shaped by alien hands. When their city Titanos falls, brothers Zuras and Alars uncover the truth behind their immortality—and the ancient power of the Uni-Brain, a shared consciousness binding them all. With Zuras chosen as their new leader, Alars sets out alone, seeking a path beyond the collective.
In "L'expérience du Dr. Burstein," Power Man is captured during a botched bank robbery by John Bushmaster, leaving Iron Fist to rally DW, Misty, and Colleen in a desperate search. With Power Man held hostage and forced to endure experiments by the desperate Dr. Noah Burstein—whose wife is in Bushmaster’s grasp—the stakes rise as Iron Fist races to free them both. When the confrontation reaches its climax, Bushmaster is transformed into metal, but the aftermath leaves Power Man wounded in ways that aren’t immediately clear.
