House of M: Avengers #2

Feb 2008 · Marvel · 2.99 USD; 3.05 CAD

In *House of M: Avengers* #2, writer Christos N. Gage and artist Mike Perkins deliver a tense, character-driven clash as Luke’s Avengers find themselves at odds with the Dragons led by Shang-Chi, their differences in ideology preventing any lasting alliance. As Frank Castle protects his family from mutants in the park, he’s drawn into the Brotherhood’s orbit by Thunderbird, while Misty grows closer to her teammates—only to be handed bullets capable of piercing even Cage’s skin. The fragile peace shatters when the Brotherhood attacks both groups during a skirmish with the Dragons, culminating in Tigra’s death and a devastating moment where Thunderbird orders Misty to shoot Cage. Luke and his Avengers tangle with the Dragons led by Shang-Chi but cannot form alliance with the super group as their philosophies differ. When Frank Castle saves his family from mutants in the park, he is approached by Thunderbird and asked to join the Brotherhood. Misty gets close to her fellow Avengers and is given bullets that can pierce even Cage's skin. During another tussle with the Dragons, the Brotherhood attacks both groups. Tigra is killed by Taskmaster and as Cage mourns his lost love, Thunderbird commands Misty to shoot him. With her alliances wavering, Misty takes the shot.
