Peter J. Tomasi and Ramón Bachs's family-adventure series from Image's Ghost Machine imprint reaches its ninth chapter, and the cover by Peter Snejbjerg sets the stakes beautifully. A red-haired woman and a wide-eyed young man in a suit stare upward in alarm, framed by looming panel-like columns that reveal a cast of supernatural figures — a luminous angelic form, a blue-flamed figure, a menacing devil creature with glowing eyes, and more — pressing in around them. It's a wonderfully tense composition that captures the human-at-the-center-of-the-extraordinary feeling that makes Hornsby & Halo such a compelling read.
