Hornsby & Halo #7

Peter J. Tomasi's warmhearted Image series brings its celestial odd couple to what appears to be a principal's office in issue #7, and the cover says it all: a sullen winged angel and a smoldering, flame-headed little devil sit side by side in the waiting chairs, arms crossed, a "Be a Buddy — Not a Bully!" poster looming judgmentally above them. Peter Snejbjerg's linework and John Kalisz's colors make the contrast between the two figures — icy blue-white feathers against vivid red skin and living fire — genuinely delightful, while curious onlookers peer through the doorway behind them. It's the kind of cover that instantly conveys the series' playful premise and makes you want to find out exactly what these two got sent to the office for.
