Hopalong Cassidy #28
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeHopalong Cassidy must maintain a disguise with a beard while setting up a twenty-four-hour vigilance with two roads watched at each end of Twin River to catch a dangerous stage robber named Smirk Taggart. A woman claiming to be the "lady guinevere" arrives in town for a masquerade ball, but Hopalong suspects she may actually be involved in the robbery plot. The story culminates in a confrontation at the Twin River Masquerade event where Hopalong attempts to prevent the robbery and apprehend the criminals. William Boyd concludes the issue with an editorial message warning readers not to believe or repeat rumors, using the example of gold prospectors in Square Boulders who foolishly spread false stories.
