This January 1949 Fawcett issue puts Hopalong Cassidy — starring William Boyd — right in the thick of it, as the sheriff rides hard on his white horse, revolver drawn and aimed at a tumbling rider on a brown horse in the background. Billed as "Hair-Triggered Action! Starring the Mightiest Sheriff of the West!", the cover absolutely delivers on that promise with a vivid, kinetic scene full of dust and urgency. A fine addition to any collection of Western comics from the golden era of the genre.
