“Collecting Oneself: Bloodshed, Part 3 of 4”

Clive Barker's Marvel horror-hero series reaches its penultimate chapter of the "Bloodshed" arc with this April 1994 issue, and the cover by Anthony Williams and Andy Lanning makes clear why Trip is facing his "greatest threat" — he's shown screaming and helpless, seized by a massive purple tentacled creature while a leering, skull-suited clown and a grotesque pale horror close in from either side, all set against a swirling hellish red backdrop. The bold "Psyche Killers" logo anchors the bottom of the image, giving a name to the nightmarish ensemble threatening our hero. With Frank Lovece writing and Williams on interior art as well, this is dark, visceral superhero horror firing on all cylinders.
