The concluding chapter of "Local Hero" arrives in this March 1997 entry from Garth Ennis and John McCrea, and the cover makes a vivid case for the fireworks inside. McCrea's art captures Tommy Monaghan — cigarette dangling, dual pistols blazing with enormous orange muzzle flares — in a wild mid-air tangle with a Green Lantern, the two figures tumbling through a city-night backdrop as spent brass flies. It's a wonderfully chaotic image that perfectly captures the irreverent collision of Gotham street-level grit and superhero spectacle that defined this series.
