In "Mitternacht im Gruselkabinett," an artist dozes off in a quiet wax museum, only to be jolted awake by a strange sound after midnight. Investigating, he discovers the lifeless figures are actually aliens studying humanity—then, in a panic, he calls the police, who respond with tear gas. As the museum trembles and lifts into the sky, the story ends with a haunting message: the aliens meant to share knowledge, but deem humans too perilous—perhaps they’ll return in a thousand years.
