“Misalliances!”

Deadpool crashes the Heroes for Hire's operation — "whether they like it or not!" — and the cover by Pasqual Ferry captures the awkward energy perfectly: a grinning, thumbs-up Deadpool pops into the foreground quipping "Somebody call for a temp?" while a stoic Luke Cage and a visibly exasperated Iron Fist loom behind him. Writer John Ostrander and artist Pasqual Ferry (with inks by Jaime Mendoza) bring a terrific comedic tension to this 1998 issue, as the Merc with a Mouth's breezy confidence bounces off the Heroes for Hire's decidedly less enthusiastic reception.
