Rain-soaked and gripping, this cover by Stephen Segovia shows a snarling Mister Sinister clutching a gravestone marked "R.I.P. Hellions" while the ghostly figures of his team — including Psylocke, Wild Child, and others — loom large behind him in the stormy background. The imagery sets a wonderfully grim tone for Zeb Wells' "Whetstone," suggesting this ragtag squad of mutant misfits may be paying a steep price for their missions. If you've been following this darkly entertaining series in 2021, this issue looks like a turning point you won't want to miss.
