Simon Bisley's cover painting fills the entire frame with Constantine's battered face — cigarette dangling from his lips, cuts and adhesive bandages scattered across his bruised skin, one eye glaring out with weary defiance. It's an uncommonly raw portrait, the kind that says this particular Friday has been very, very long before you've read a single page. Peter Milligan's "The Long Crap Friday" promises the grounded, gritty Hellblazer storytelling the Vertigo series does so well.
